You're absolutely right-particularly in scenes where colors might dominate, or in a very hectic scene, a black and white photo can transform a mediocre shot into a great one. It's also quite fascinating to experiment with light and shadows in black and white photography. Thank you for sharing your insights and a small peek into your personal photo album. Cheers!

The latest firmware update (ver. 7.00) has certainly not improved the autofocus of my x-h2s for fast-action photo and video (it's just ok for slow-moving or static objects). It was a lot snappier and more accurate when I first bought the camera 2 years ago. I regret having upgraded. I'd like Fuji to offer a downgrade back to the original version of the software.

I wish they would update the x-T4. It works ok but does miss a bit.

The effect on the leaves might be a result of diffraction. Christopher Frost, in his lens reviews, usually can detect diffraction at f11 or higher. It might look better if you reduced to f8 and have some out of focus areas.

Unfortunatly with every Firmware since 3.0 the AF got worse… Video AF even worser… at the Moment I don‘t believe they‘ll be able to get this fixed properly… 😖

For video AFC is totally useless and untrustworthy. Photography is easy for most cameras out there.

Im sorry but many images in this video are not sharp. Not just two like you mentioned. For example at 3:11 the image is not sharp at all like you mention. It focused on the leaves on the back. You also dont show the images from 3:12 to 3:17 (i guess because they werent in focus). And the last image you zoomed in is actually blurry and not that sharp. The af is better for sure that the 6.0 but still far behind. from anything else in the market.

In my previous comment (which has been removed) I had in mind, that testing eye/face tracking in AF-C with lens set to f/5.6 aperture gives basically useless conclusion, because in aps-c sensor f/5.6 aperture gives more-less same DOF as f/8 on full frame. And with such big DOF every focus miss by camera AF system is "blurred" by depth of field. In short, You wonna test cameras eye/face tracking in AF-C - take new Fuji f/1.4 primes, and try tracking Your son running towards camera with lens aperture set to f/1.4 :) Then You will see how rally good Fujifilm AF is ;) (Spoiler alert, You will get around 50% hit rate)

Unfortunately, the video autofocus is still very poor. The autofocus cannot track a person walking slowly towards the camera without errors...

The flower picture is great, just to ask, why ISO 320, not 100?

Thank you for the update. I’ve yet had a chance to test firmware 7.0.

At this point, I’m almost afraid to upgrade anymore, at least I’m going to wait before and hear what people have to say. I just don’t trust Fuji anymore! I just downloaded the 4.0 firmware for the XT5, will have to do some testing. Figure it can’t be any worse or can it??

Continues was never the issue though. Continues + any kind of tracking is the issue everybody is furious about, which can also be seen in your samples.

wished they had put this update out before I had shot my nephews graduation, but it is what is and I was able to get more than enough good ones using the XH2s w/50-140 2.8. I did do the update shortly after seeing Chris' (Pal2Tech) video and now I just need to get out with it

I tested yesterday on flying seagulls, about 40 images and all were in the eye except 2 images. So pleased

Good way to check is just enable „sharp mask” view in Capture One - you will be surprised;) First I thought that option is broken because it’s not possible to have such a lot out of focus shots but no ;) switched to Sony and this works as intended. BTW xh2s has shortcut when you view photos you can zoom to that point focus landed. A lot of cases it was not what was showing green box before shot. For Firmware 7.0 I don’t know I’ve sold all my Fuji gear.

The new Reala Ace simulation is awesome. I never really had that many issue with the autofocus given the way i shoot, but the new film simutation give me even more reason to love my xh2s

I've shot weddings with my XT5 and I got a 90% hit rate 3 tips 1 pick 1 eye 👁 Tip 2 ..adjust sensitivity to 3 Tip 3 use right lenses Tip 4 correctly expose images ..for me that image was under exposeed. Tip 4 shutter speeds correctly 👌

For the rendering of the image, are you using LR or Capture One? Don't use LR for any of the X-Trans sensors on LR, they turn your images to mush. Capture One is a 180° improvement. I almost sold off my Fujifilm system. When I discovered Capture one, it was like a new camera. You're ok with the GFX systems as they are Beyer sensors.

8:05 you said you photograph at very high ISO. In my case, my camera doesn't work well with high ISO, the images get very grainy. In this case, this flash won't do the work? (Sorry for my English, I'm not fluent)
